Collaboration & Community

The focus with @hysterical_melancholy was to create a space for inspiration and community engagement. As a visual designer/director, I have used the platform to present retro-future design collaborations, with an aim to showcase the diversity amongst my own, and many other artists’ styles. Together we have captured just a slice of the perspective on the post-modern zeitgeist.

At the start of 2020, I noticed how things had changed so significantly since I was a young kid growing up in Canada. Styles in fashion and aesthetic development had come full circle but also broke into their own lanes of thoughts and traditions. We are now witnessing something of a renaissance for the 90s-00s cyber-culture.

This curated post-internet community is fixated on elements of nostalgic-futurism, to rediscover/redefine iconography, technology, and aesthetics for a future to reflect on.
